December 3-7 2018

Our Letter of the Week this week was "Dd"!

I am sure you have noticed our Christmas Tree Advent Calendar hanging in our classroom. Each day we pull out a slip of paper that tells us what fun activity we will get to do that day! On Monday we did Jingle Bell Painting, be sure to check the out on the wall outside our classroom!

Tuesday we worked on a surprise present for our parents! On Wednesday we made Crystal Star ornaments. To make these you boil 2 cups of water and then dissolve 1/2 cup of borax. We shaped a pipe cleaner into a star and left it in the mixture over night and crystals grew on them!

On Thursday we painted and decorated paper plates to look like Gingerbread face! (be sure to check them out on our Loft!)

On Friday we made Christmas Light Pattern paintings!

We did all of our regular learning activities this week as well! The kids all did a great job on a tree graphing paper, a few of the kids were working ahead of me!

We worked on our fine motor skills with our Pop Beads

We switched our Sensory table for a more wintry theme! We used: rice, cotton stuffing, glass jars, and small figurines. The kids have been having fun using the materials to make snow globes!

We practiced our counting and comparing with our small green gems. Miss Teresa gave each child a handful, they each counted how many they had and saw who had the most, the least, etc. Miss Teresa then asked questions such as, "If I gave you 3 more how many would you have? Who would have the most?" etc.

We worked on our letter sounds

We worked on our names!

And we used our Geoboards

The kids worked hard on putting the pictures from the story Henny Penny in the right order!

We worked on our counting too!
