Our Letter of the Week this week was "Ii"
Brooks brought in some Icing for the letter I! The kids were all excited to get to use it as dip for their apples!
Working on our names!
We did a journal page about a book we have been reading in class called, "Something From Nothing"
We also worked on our rhyming skills!
We increased our finger muscles and worked on pencil grip with a few different activities this week that used tweezers
We used our Geoboards again, only this time we made some spider webs for our spiders!
We practiced making groups of 5 with some buttons. The kids had a lot of fun putting 2 or 3 groups together and counting to see how many they had!
We also worked on some sorting and classifying
We read a new book about filling buckets this week. One of the ideas in the book was to make cards for others to fill their buckets. So, we decided to make cards! Some of the kids made theirs for family members, or friends, some picked a teacher, and 2 picked Miss Sally!
We worked on our letter sounds with this fun Soup Sound Sorting game!
We have added a fwe more fun items to our sensory table, and the kids have been having a ton of fun!
We have a new "Finger Gym" in our classroom! This cart has 10 drawers that are filled with activities to help the kiddos work on their fine motor skills, scissor skills, pencil grip, and more! When the kids arrive in the morning (before breakfast) they can "pick a polka dot" which will tell them which drawer they get to use that morning. They are also able to chose a drawer during free play and other parts of the day. So far it has been a big hit with the kids!
